Meet the Team

Brie Wieselman

Brie

A few fun facts about me:

When I was a teen I was selected for a US cheerleading team and travelled to London to dance and perform in the Christmas Day parade.

I have a ridiculously strong sense of smell. I’ve learned that this is genetic and particular to women, usually those who also have higher levels of estrogen. Being able to smell things so intensely, is sometimes a good thing….and sometimes not a great thing.

My first live music concert was at age 5, with my father and a few of his friends, to see Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

If I could travel anywhere right this second, I would go to:

Morocco….or Israel….or Greece….or back to Brazil….or Barcelona….or maybe to Tanzania. (I have a huge wanderlust and a LOT of places on my list)

Why I love what I do:

I love what I do because when people recover from health challenges that have been keeping them “down” in some way, it’s like they recover a piece of themselves.

I see the light in their eyes return….I hear things like they finally have the bandwidth to _____ (switch careers, start a new business, take on a new political cause, have that baby, leave that relationship that is really truly no longer working).

I love helping empower women to choose to make their lives and the world better.

Nanci Miklowski, MEd, ND

Nanci is a naturopathic doctor who loves the challenge and thrill of discovering the root cause of illness. She obtained her degree from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) and completed a residency at a busy primary care practice in Portland, OR. While in medical school, she completed an internship with Drs. Steven Sandberg-Lewis and Allison Siebecker at the NUNM SIBO Center for Digestive Health.

Nanci is passionate about helping others obtain optimal health which, of course, always starts in the gut. She discovered this herself many years ago. She struggled for years with IBS and fatigue and never got the answer or relief from conventional medicine. It wasn’t until she finally saw a naturopathic doctor when she learned of her food sensitivities, gut infections, and nutritional deficiencies. Actually having an answer, while also obtaining health for the first time since she could remember, was life-changing. This fueled her desire to pursue natural medicine so she too can help others discover the root of their condition(s)!

When she’s not helping clients, Nanci enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending quality time with her loving partner, adorable daughter, and endlessly active pup!

A few fun facts about me:

Most can’t tell because of the virtual setting, but I’m 6’0″ tall!

If I could travel anywhere right this second, I would go to:

Ireland, to visit my roots.

Why I love what I do:

One of the main reasons I went to naturopathic medical school was to find out why I was sick.

I went from doctor to doctor but no one could tell me why I had my symptoms and the only “solution” was prescription medications. What pushed me over the edge was being told my diet had no effect on my mood, period, or IBS symptoms. I hear this same story time and time again from my clients. I LOVE finding the WHY for people’s symptoms. Not only does this result in lasting symptomatic relief but it empowers the client and allows them to be in control of their health.
